Hihi! Today is going to be another double post day because life took over yesterday, but after y’all see both polishes, I think you’ll forgive me. Mark is off today so we grabbed groceries and lunch and then came back to play Rockband 4 and have yummy drinks. I’m not even gonna lie. I begged him to play Cake By The Ocean so I could sing it while I sipped my drink of the same name. I have thoroughly enjoyed my day so far. Once this post is up, I think I’m going to do a conditioning treatment with my red Overtone and soak with a drink and book. Oh man, that sounds lovely, doesn’t it?

But before that, let’s take a look at what Karen from Lollipop Posse Lacquer created for the October Polish Pickup! As you may have gathered from my previous posts this week, the theme is Monsters & Mythical Creatures, and Nothing Ends fits with it perfectly. She had asked if I could swatch it since I’d be at Polish Con so we could see each other and avoid shipping. I most definitely said yes and came home with some more bubble bars and a Magicians-themed trio. Lord help my wallet. Mrs. and Mr. Lollipop are wonderful folks, y’all. Seriously. This was my second time seeing them, and it was an absolute pleasure.

The polish is based on the following still from The Last Unicorn, which is one of my favorite movies. It was one that we’d watch at my grandmother’s house, all of the grandkids. I was closest to my Aunt Nanci and her kids: Jared, Judi, and Amanda, and we probably watched this one the most. My childhood wasn’t the best, but those weekends together were what kept me sane at that time. I learned last week that my Aunt had passed away, and it hit pretty hard. This polish meant a ton to me before the passing, just because of those memories, but now? It means so much more, and it’s something that I will hold onto for as long as I possibly can.

“There are no happy endings because nothing ends.”
~Schmendrick the Magician,

Nothing Ends is a dark blue-based polish with strong red duochrome shimmer, sparse holo flecks, and red/gold/bronze UCC flakies. It honestly is magic in a bottle. I drooled the moment it touched my fingers in Chicago, and that super unflattering drooling continued through the swatchathon. The base is a bit on the sheer side, so I needed three coats with my VNL, but you guys. You. Guys. *insert hella positive expletives here* The polish is absolutely breathtaking. My photos show three coats plus top coat.

I mean, really though. Look at that shimmer! LOOK HOW SQUISHY IT IS!

Eff, man. What a beauty!

…I feel like tipsy me just channeled Steve Irwin. Must have been the stingray that I pet at the Shedd Aquarium. Yep. That’s it.

Anywho. Nothing Ends will be available for preorder through the Polish Pickup starting tomorrow, October 6th at 11am EST. It’ll go for $12 and shipping is a flat $3 for all US and Canada folks!

  1. I love this movie – and the book – and unicorns for EVeR. Unicorn is my spirit animal. Now, about the polish. OMG! so pretty! Love the flakies – I was so apposed to those for so long, but I’m coming around. this is stunning

  2. I’m so sorry about your Aunt. I also have a couple special movies that really hit me in the gut when I watch them because I’m no longer able to watch them with my mammam.
The polish is really stunning and your swatches are fab!
