Monday? Monday. I had a tiny break from blogging (though, that was unintentional, I fell asleep at my desk) and spent a ton of time reading and relaxing because I had three days off in a row. We had dinner at the Mark’s step father’s family house and it was super nice. I hadn’t met them yet, but they’d been sending Christmas gift for me since I moved up here (y’all, they sent me nail polish, they dun good), so it was nice to finally meet them. There was cake, bbq, and plenty of giggles. Mark’s momma brought out his dog that lives with them since we’re renting, and that dog is a damn mess. Y’all, he’s like a little walking sausage. He’s super sweet and quiet for the most part, but decided to try and scare me? He followed me through our house the other day, barking and growling all while wagging his tail, as if he was trying to establish dominance. But that’s not even the best part. They took him outside and we’re sitting there eating and just hear lots of shouting. THE DAMN DOG JUMPED A BARBWIRE FENCE TO GO AFTER A COW. A LITTLE SAUSAGE WITH LEGS TRIED TO GO AFTER A COW 8 TIMES HIS SIZE.

Bless his pea-pickin’ little heart.

I’m bummed I didn’t get to paint my nails before going over there, though. I had stayed up all night while Mark worked so we could be on the same sleep schedule and didn’t think to paint my nails before sleep. Mistakes were made, especially considering that this is the polish that I would have worn. Ready to see it?

Fanchromatic Nails is back on the blog tonight with a delicious blue inspired by the ever-awesome Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy. Though, each time I see him, all I think of is Merle from the Walking Dead, albeit a little blue. It’s not available just yet, but will be shortly. If you’re itching to get it ASAP, Lynae will open up a custom listing for you if you email her at [email protected]!

My Dad Was A Space Pirate; “a neon blue creme filled with red and gold microflakies.” For me, this one was a tiny bit more sheer than a creme, it was almost a crelly, but it was PERFECT for the flakies. They didn’t settle in the bottle at all and they spread out evenly without having to fish. With the sheerness of it, I needed 3 coats with my VNL, but I’m pretty sure most will get away with just 2. Oh, and the color? Sweet baby jesus it’s perfect. It’s vibrant and beautiful but not so bright that my brain would classify it as a strictly summer neon.
Before scoffing at color-inaccurate photos commences, I’d like to say that I am aware that these look WAY brighter than the other ones above. That was about 87% intentional. I moved my hand closer to the light to get a better view of the flakies, and that made the color go hella wonky. But look at those flakies, I mean. Forreal. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass.
I would love to go swimming in it, wouldn’t you?
OH! Are any of y’all going to Polish Con at the end of the month? I’ll be there, and so will Fanchromatic Nails, and I’m super stoked. If you’d like more info on the event and tickets, check here.
You can also find Fanchromatic Nails on Instagram and Facebook to see everything that Lynae is getting up to!
With that, I’m going to head out for the night and probably watch some shitty horror movies. Thanks for stopping by!
***The nail polish mentioned in this post was sent to me in exchange for an honest review and photos, which can be found above.***

  1. I wish I could go to Polish Con!!! That’s so funny that a weiner dog jumped a fence, lol.
This polish is so pretty. I love the way some brands have been making the neons more unique.
