Hi loves! I’m sorry this is up a little later than usual, boyfriend wound up having to work till midnight on his day off. Lameness, but it gave me time to edit stuff and run around on Argus in World of Warcraft now that it’s open. My brain has been a mess all day, I’m kind of surprised that I’m not ugly crying in a tub journey at the moment. I was notified back in the middle of July that my position at work was terminated (literally out of nowhere, 400+ of us are losing our jobs starting September 16th) and out of all the jobs I’ve applied for, I’ve either been turned down or haven’t heard back yet. For the most part, that’s okay. I’d like to take some time off (once my severance comes in) and focus on getting my brain in an okay place as well as see what I can add to the blog. At the same time, though, I think it’s finally hitting that my time as an Agent is over and I’m torn between full on panic and full on otherworldly sadness. I know I’ll be okay in the long-run, but shit dude. I’ve loved this job and put so much into it and have been able to watch it grow into what it is now. That, and I work from home for a reason. Crippling social anxiety and hella depression? THE OUTSIDE WORLD IS WEIRD AND THEY REQUIRE REAL PANTS. Bullshit, right? I thought so too. But, for the next 10 shifts, I’ll rock it out, paint alllll the nails, and melt alllll the waxes. Anywho. That was an info overload, but I finally felt like I was in an okay enough headspace to put it out there. Shoot, I even feel a bit better. Grabbed some oatmeal and a diet pepsi and I’m ready to show y’all one of my favoritest polishes. EVER.

By now, I think y’all know that the Polish Pickup opens up tomorrow, the 1st and you’ve seen two of the four polishes that I was lucky enough to swatch. Well, get ready to have your socks blown off. Mardi of The Howling Boutique’s Supermoon Lacquer completely knocked the Fall Foliage & Fun theme out of the park. Seriously.

Mardi drew inspiration for her breathtaking Purple Ghost polish from the Purple Ghost Japanese Maple. Its leaves go from a vibrant purple to dark crimson in the the fall. I mean, those are two of my favorite colors. I’m already all in on this ish, trufax. As soon as I had the polish on my nails, I sent Mardi a few photos because I just can’t even with how friggen stunning it is. She did the thing, and she did it well.

Purple Ghost; “a red-violet-to-magenta holographic duochrome with purple-to-red and blue-to-purple color shifting shimmer, purple pearl flakies, blue-to-purple iridescent microglitter, and silver, magenta, and violet holo microglitter.”

That is a mouthful and most definitely a super accurate description. This one is on the thicker side, much like the rest of Mardi’s polishes, and the formula was perfect. The thickness meant nothing more than it went on in one buttery smooth coat. No pooling, no dragging, no brush strokes. With all of the fantastical pigment, it dried to a semi-matte finish for me, so I made sure to add my beloved Seche Vite. I mean, I would have even if it dried super glossy. But. Y’know.

When I said that Purple Ghost was a favorite, I wasn’t lying. This is easily in my to 15 of all time favorites. I love that it’s warm and glowy but deep and seductive at the same time.

While I round this post out, feel free to step away for a cold shower. I sure as hell need one after seeing the photos again.

Purple Ghost will be available for preorder this Friday, the 1st, over at the Polish Pickup for $12 USD. As a reminder, the PPU offers $3 flat shipping for the US and Canada AND they combine orders!

Now, I ain’t gonna say that I’d be disappointed if you don’t grab this this weekend, but I’m gonna be hella disappoint if you don’t. Just sayin’.

For more photos and links on what’s releasing for preorder this Friday, you’re going to want to check out the Polish Pickup Pack on FB.

So you can stalk THB’s Supermoon Lacquer:

I’m going to hop off here, maybe take a bath, and then curl up in bed. Thanks for stopping by, y’all!

  1. This is one stunning colour. I too am sorry to hear about your job, but I’m a big believer that things happen for a reason and something bigger and better is on its way to you :)
