Hey loves! I’m running a tad bit behind tonight, oops! Today is my handsome boyfriend’s birthday, so we spent the day being lazy with copious amounts of donuts and sushi. It’s rare that we have a day off together these days, so it was so wonderful having this special day together, even if he hates birthdays. Now that we’re wrapping up the evening, he’s playing a few Overwatch matches as I sit here with a Baby Foot mask on attempting to write this post. It’s not that I don’t love doing these, it’s just that I normally take HOURS to write them, since I often walk away and try to do a million other things at the same time. This way, I have these stupid boot mask things on, so I have to sit here. I’m dying to move around. Send help.
Anywho, I’m way too excited for this post. Night Owl Lacquer makes some seriously gorgeous stuff, y’all. I’ve had my photos done for about a week now, and I was holding onto them until we got closer to the launch of this trio, but it was hard as hell. They’re just so pretty. I think I deserve a medal for keeping them a secret for so long (well, outside of the Facebook group). Oh! And Lindsay and I have teamed up to offer something special for my readers. Keep reading to see what it is!
First up is the Love Trio – a 3 piece (not that I’m assuming that y’all don’t know what a trio is, I don’t really know why I even said that but we’re rolling with it, we’ve come too far to go back now) collection made up of some gorgeous glittery jelly polishes inspired by the phases of love that we all experience one point or another. So, LEHGGO.
Unicorn Love; “a deep purple jelly with blue, pink & violet holo shreds.” Y’all. Y ‘ A L L. You guys know by now that I’m not fond of jellies, or glitter, but sweet baby friggen jesus, this (and the rest of the trio) is amazing. Because it’s a jelly, VNL is to be expected, but honestly, I kinda really like it with this one! I used three thin coats and it still came through, but it adds such depth to the polish, if that makes any sort of sense. The color of this one, oh my. Purple. Magical. Goodness. It’s legit my favorite shade of purple, the cool-but-warm-but-just-everything kinda purple. The formula for all three of these totally kicked ass – they weren’t super gritty or pooly or too thin/jellyish that you have to fish glitters out. Perfection. No lie. Also please ignore the hair in the first photo. I can’t photoshop to save my life, so we’re just gonna name it Peggy and move on.
Love; “a bright red jelly packed with silver holo shreds.” What Valentine’s Day trio is complete without a sultry and seductive red?! This one is a damn showstopper, y’all. It only took two coats, and went on super smoothly. I may or may not have sent Mark a few photos of this one because it’s just too pretty to not show off! I even did a little stamping over the top of it with some Painted Polish stamping cremes, and a hēhē plate that I recently purchased! I mucked it up, but we’re just gonna pretend that everything went according to plan. Kay? Kay.
Love Hate; “a black jelly with red holo micro glitters, red holo shreds and silver flecks.” Eff. Yes. A sultry black perfect for those that aren’t into super feminine colors, but still want to be fierce as hell. This one took three coats and had the tiniest bit of texture – not much at all, I’m just noting it in case some folks are weirded out by textures like I am. It wasn’t enough to make me want to take it off immediately and nothing that a thin coat of Seche couldn’t smooth over.
Next up is the first official group custom for the Night Owl fan group! I’m so effing in love with this. I mean. I know I say that about a lot of shit. But trufax? This is the actual tits. It’s described as a medium grey creme with bright red shimmer, red holo shreds, and silver flecks. Grey. Grey. Friggen. Goodness. The formula was amazing on this one, too! It was pretty much opaque in one coat, but I went over with a second out of habit. I’m gonna post a few different photos because I caught it in low lighting which pulled the red out so it’s like BAM IN YO FACE. Also did a little stamping on top of it! If you saw my post a few days ago, you’ll recognize the stamping as from It Girl Nail Art‘s new IG202 plate.
Eff. Isn’t it delicious? It’s definitely in my top favorite polishes from NOL and one of my favorite greys. Ever.
Also, just in case y’all wanted to know, walking in these god forsaken boots is hard as hell. I just went to answer the door (boyfriend’s bro lost his house key on NYE) and I damn near busted my ass trying to walk across the room.
Okay, okay. Squirrel. Ooops. SO! These 4 pretties launch this Friday, February 11th at 10pm MST (12a EST) over at www.nightowllacquer.com. They’re $9 individually, or $25 (+ shipping) for the trio and then $9 for the custom if you want to snag that, too!
Now, for my favorite part of this! Lindsay was kind enough to make a discount code specifically for my readers! If you use TGOB10 in the shop, you’ll get 10% off your order. NEATO, RIGHT? YEEEEEAH! I feel so friggen special, it’s silly. Thanks again, Lindsday! <3 Just to be clear, this is NOT an affiliate code!
So, what do y’all think? Is there anything that you just HAVE to have from NOL besides everything?
Thanks again for reading my loves!
***The polishes in the post were sent to me in exchange for an honest review and photos, which can be found above.***
