Hey babes! Long time no see, eh? My perpetual state of exhaustion has only increased, even with having days off. I need a vacation, I swear. But, I’ve had quite a bit of time to try out some gorgeous new polishes and stamping plates (wait till y’all see those, my goodness!), so there’s that! I also had the chance to dye my hair for the first time since August, I feel fierce, you guys. SO FIERCE. Also, my damn nails broke through my gloves and now my nails are stained to hell and back, a week later. It’s awful. I’ve tried three mani bombs, toothpaste, baking soda, scrubby brush… everything, all to no avail. So uh. If you guys have any tips on getting dark hair dye out of nails, I’m alllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ears.
Anywho! This collection that I’m about to share, is so friggen unique and fantastical and unf. I’m finding myself drooling each time I either catch my nails in the light or I’m going through my photos to edit. Frrrrrrrrig!
Mmmmmh cupcakes. If they weren’t so damn messy, they’d be my go-to sweet treat. I, however, make messes like a 5 year old child so I’ll just stick to ice cream and call it a day. These polishes, though. They make me want to try baking again… Maybe. I tried to make angel food cupcakes for my boyfriend’s birthday and went through 4 boxes of batter (THEY ALL BURNED) before I gave up and decided that maybe I shouldn’t be baking. Angry tears may have happened.
MOVING ON. Polished for Days has teamed up with Illyrian Polish for a monthly themed box that features a third indie maker. I’d passed up the last few boxes, but as soon as I saw that Cupcake Polish was the featured maker, I had to snag a box. That, and cupcakes. Yes, good. May’s theme was Cupcakes for Dessert!
I can finally share the last (but not least) part of the STUNNING NoSleep collection from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics with y’all! We had a slight mishap with my brush for the bottle, but Emily was right on it and super quick to fix it. I love her so.
I’ve got swatches of Hunter’s Moon and I couldn’t be more excited. As soon as the brush came in, I ran upstairs to get it alllll up in that cap so I could paint my nails. I may or may not have made a mess since the lid had polish in it already. #noragrets
Game. Of. Thrones. My heart. It’s gone. Destroyed. Nothing. He held the damn door.
Now that our hearts have been completely shattered, let’s take a look at some gorgeous happy polish, eh? Celestial Cosmetics, an awesome Aussie maker, recently released their Valyrio Collection and I was able to get my hands on two of the six from Color4Nails so it wouldn’t take a bajillion years for international shipping. Hallaluler, thank goodness for international stockists. Y’all the real MVP.
I don’t know why it took me so long to fall in love with Cupcake Polish. I ordered Berry Good Looking a few months ago because the internet was raving about it, and it was love at first sight. When I first saw the Butterfly Collection on instagram, I knew I had to have it. It’s holo. It’s bright. It’s perfection in tiny glass bottles. It was going to be mine.
It’s been a while since I’ve had PCNP on here, hasn’t it? That needs to change! I’ve got a cute little spring crelly to share with y’all today – Fruit On Top. It’s one of the bajillion polishes that I won in the giveaway that Naked Without Polish hosted and I absolutely adore it!
Kristen from Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish made FoT a few months back and I’d been eyeing it. I’m not one for glitters or crellies, but I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. It reminds me of the pistachio ambrosia salad that my grandma made when I was a child and I’ve now got a serious craving for some ever since I wore the polish. Do y’all remember it? So. Dang. Yummy.
Ah, Ygritte. One of my favorite Game of Thrones characters. This was the moment that I fell in love with them as a couple. They’re just… so… FANTASTIC. Ugh, GoT, why you gotta break my heart?
Anywho. Illyrian Polish! A new-to-me brand and so awesome! I found this polish on Instagram a few weeks ago and I had to have it. Mark and I marathon’d Game of Thrones in the few weeks leading up to this season’s premier since I hadn’t seen any of it and now I’m slightly more than a little obsessed. SO GOOD. Now I need to get my hands on the books.
I have some amazing friends in the indie polish community. From makers to bloggers, there’s no shortage of love. I was lucky enough to win Becky of Naked Without Polish‘s 4 year blogiversary giveaway and it’s put me in touch with some fantastic people. We had a slight issue with one of the prizes (though, there’s no complaints here – I’m one lucky gal!) and Chelsea from Pretty & Polished stepped up and sent me something extra (on top of the collection I won in the giveaway[!!!]). I damn near cried opening the package the other day. These two women are incredible, seriously.
Whoa. Where has the week gone? I can’t believe it’s already Thursday! I’m glad it’s going quickly, but there’s so much to do, and my head is spinning. And what am I doing about it? Not a damn thing. I’ve got a cup of tea, music going, and I’m fussing with garrison missions in WoW in between writing. I’m stellar at avoiding responsibility, y’all.
Anywho! Connie from Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer opted to switch up her spring polishes this year. Instead of a static collection, she created 12 small batch polishes and they’re incredibly pretty. I’ve got four of them to share today! :D
Yeah. It’s a little wonky. I tried.
Anywho. HOLO. Fantastic summery holos. HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG. Hella Holo Customs is amazing at bringing the best out of brands (not that they don’t do an awesome job of that themselves!) and this is no exception.
For the month of April, they partnered with Dreamland Lacquer (formerly known as Smitten) to bring us three gorgeous polishes that are holotastic. I ordered two, Coral of the Story and Dragonberry. Holy shit. They. Are. Beautiful. No, no. That’s an understatement. They’re… exquisite. And perfect. And everything you need in life.
