Y’all. Brace yourselves. This is going to be a super long post. But before we jump into that, can I just take a moment to whine? 5 nails broke yesterday. My last bra had the underwire come out. My webhost has been undergoing server maintenance off and on for the last 24 hours. And to top that all off? I’ve slept maybe 3 hours over the last few days thanks to some WICKED heartburn (my prescription had run out and I was too chicken to call for a refill from the doctor. yeah. I’m an adult). I just had the last two days off, and I’m already counting down till Wednesday. Okay. Okay. Whine session over. I’ve got 11 pretties to share with y’all from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer, and all of them will be at The Indie Shop tomorrow in Atlanta!
Mmmmmh cupcakes. If they weren’t so damn messy, they’d be my go-to sweet treat. I, however, make messes like a 5 year old child so I’ll just stick to ice cream and call it a day. These polishes, though. They make me want to try baking again… Maybe. I tried to make angel food cupcakes for my boyfriend’s birthday and went through 4 boxes of batter (THEY ALL BURNED) before I gave up and decided that maybe I shouldn’t be baking. Angry tears may have happened.
MOVING ON. Polished for Days has teamed up with Illyrian Polish for a monthly themed box that features a third indie maker. I’d passed up the last few boxes, but as soon as I saw that Cupcake Polish was the featured maker, I had to snag a box. That, and cupcakes. Yes, good. May’s theme was Cupcakes for Dessert!
I can finally share the last (but not least) part of the STUNNING NoSleep collection from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics with y’all! We had a slight mishap with my brush for the bottle, but Emily was right on it and super quick to fix it. I love her so.
I’ve got swatches of Hunter’s Moon and I couldn’t be more excited. As soon as the brush came in, I ran upstairs to get it alllll up in that cap so I could paint my nails. I may or may not have made a mess since the lid had polish in it already. #noragrets
It’s been a while since I’ve had PCNP on here, hasn’t it? That needs to change! I’ve got a cute little spring crelly to share with y’all today – Fruit On Top. It’s one of the bajillion polishes that I won in the giveaway that Naked Without Polish hosted and I absolutely adore it!
Kristen from Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish made FoT a few months back and I’d been eyeing it. I’m not one for glitters or crellies, but I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. It reminds me of the pistachio ambrosia salad that my grandma made when I was a child and I’ve now got a serious craving for some ever since I wore the polish. Do y’all remember it? So. Dang. Yummy.
Ah, Ygritte. One of my favorite Game of Thrones characters. This was the moment that I fell in love with them as a couple. They’re just… so… FANTASTIC. Ugh, GoT, why you gotta break my heart?
Anywho. Illyrian Polish! A new-to-me brand and so awesome! I found this polish on Instagram a few weeks ago and I had to have it. Mark and I marathon’d Game of Thrones in the few weeks leading up to this season’s premier since I hadn’t seen any of it and now I’m slightly more than a little obsessed. SO GOOD. Now I need to get my hands on the books.
Whoa. Where has the week gone? I can’t believe it’s already Thursday! I’m glad it’s going quickly, but there’s so much to do, and my head is spinning. And what am I doing about it? Not a damn thing. I’ve got a cup of tea, music going, and I’m fussing with garrison missions in WoW in between writing. I’m stellar at avoiding responsibility, y’all.
Anywho! Connie from Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer opted to switch up her spring polishes this year. Instead of a static collection, she created 12 small batch polishes and they’re incredibly pretty. I’ve got four of them to share today! :D
Yeah. It’s a little wonky. I tried.
Anywho. HOLO. Fantastic summery holos. HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG. Hella Holo Customs is amazing at bringing the best out of brands (not that they don’t do an awesome job of that themselves!) and this is no exception.
For the month of April, they partnered with Dreamland Lacquer (formerly known as Smitten) to bring us three gorgeous polishes that are holotastic. I ordered two, Coral of the Story and Dragonberry. Holy shit. They. Are. Beautiful. No, no. That’s an understatement. They’re… exquisite. And perfect. And everything you need in life.
HARRY POTTER NAIL POLISH.
Okay, okay. I’ll calm down. But really? Harry Potter and nail polish? Sign me the hell up!
Afternoon! A few months back, Potion Polish announced that they were closing down and they’d listed several polishes at a lower price to clear out inventory. I panicked. Ever since I tried two from the fall line last year, I’ve been in love. Such beautiful polishes, perfect formula, and a ton of holo packed in. I was devastated. There were two that I’d been eyeing for a few months, but just hadn’t ordered because I kept putting it off. I knew I couldn’t wait any longer. They had to be mine.
And now they are.
Luckily, for all of us, they’ve decided to continue making polish for special occasions in small batches. AW YISS. For those of you who haven’t tried them yet, seriously. Go place an order. I haven’t seen a polish from them that I didn’t immediately fall in love with.
I’m beyond happy with the two that I picked – Satin Panties and Sweater Weather is Better Weather. I’m a holo hussy from now till the day I die, and I want to dive into these. Blue and green tend to scare me away, but SWisBW is just plain stunning.
I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Two posts in less than a week? AW YISS making habits. And stuff. Or actually just trying to be good at this blogging thing. Anywho. I’ve got another CNC goody to share today and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s got to be one of my absolute favorites from Emily so far.
This polish, as classy as it looks, is inspired by one of the sassiest shows ever, Shin Chan. Emily from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics has a fantastic sense of humor. If you’re friends with her on Facebook, you’ll see the hilarious things she shares. From King of the Hill/Studio Ghibli crossovers to tiny crocheted potatoes, it’s great. After getting to know her over the last year, it’s no surprise that she’d make a STUNNING polish based on this tiny, chaotic human:
