If y’all love holo as much as I do, you need to join Holo-maniacs on Facebook. Seriously. Like. Yesterday. Megan from Mindfully Polished has managed to wrangle up all of the holo hussies of FB and stick them in one group together. It’s glorious. And dangerous for my bank account. I REGRET NOTHING. Since the group started a few months back, she’s been working with several indie makers to have some beautiful customs made for us. HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG.
May’s maker was Anonymous Lacquer and Mildred friggen knocked it out of the park. This was my first purchase from AL and it certainly won’t be my last. She was tasked with creating a purple holo and oh my. I want to bathe in it. I seriously regret not buying backups.
Hey y’all! I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday weekend! I’ve worked nonstop, but I had to take a small break to share this beauty with you guys!
Emily from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics (I sincerely hope that y’all know her by now!) made a GORGEOUS custom polish for one of my best and oldest (don’t kill me! <3) friends, Anna.
Mmmmmh cupcakes. If they weren’t so damn messy, they’d be my go-to sweet treat. I, however, make messes like a 5 year old child so I’ll just stick to ice cream and call it a day. These polishes, though. They make me want to try baking again… Maybe. I tried to make angel food cupcakes for my boyfriend’s birthday and went through 4 boxes of batter (THEY ALL BURNED) before I gave up and decided that maybe I shouldn’t be baking. Angry tears may have happened.
MOVING ON. Polished for Days has teamed up with Illyrian Polish for a monthly themed box that features a third indie maker. I’d passed up the last few boxes, but as soon as I saw that Cupcake Polish was the featured maker, I had to snag a box. That, and cupcakes. Yes, good. May’s theme was Cupcakes for Dessert!
I can finally share the last (but not least) part of the STUNNING NoSleep collection from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics with y’all! We had a slight mishap with my brush for the bottle, but Emily was right on it and super quick to fix it. I love her so.
I’ve got swatches of Hunter’s Moon and I couldn’t be more excited. As soon as the brush came in, I ran upstairs to get it alllll up in that cap so I could paint my nails. I may or may not have made a mess since the lid had polish in it already. #noragrets
I have some amazing friends in the indie polish community. From makers to bloggers, there’s no shortage of love. I was lucky enough to win Becky of Naked Without Polish‘s 4 year blogiversary giveaway and it’s put me in touch with some fantastic people. We had a slight issue with one of the prizes (though, there’s no complaints here – I’m one lucky gal!) and Chelsea from Pretty & Polished stepped up and sent me something extra (on top of the collection I won in the giveaway[!!!]). I damn near cried opening the package the other day. These two women are incredible, seriously.
Yeah. It’s a little wonky. I tried.
Anywho. HOLO. Fantastic summery holos. HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG. Hella Holo Customs is amazing at bringing the best out of brands (not that they don’t do an awesome job of that themselves!) and this is no exception.
For the month of April, they partnered with Dreamland Lacquer (formerly known as Smitten) to bring us three gorgeous polishes that are holotastic. I ordered two, Coral of the Story and Dragonberry. Holy shit. They. Are. Beautiful. No, no. That’s an understatement. They’re… exquisite. And perfect. And everything you need in life.
Afternoon! A few months back, Potion Polish announced that they were closing down and they’d listed several polishes at a lower price to clear out inventory. I panicked. Ever since I tried two from the fall line last year, I’ve been in love. Such beautiful polishes, perfect formula, and a ton of holo packed in. I was devastated. There were two that I’d been eyeing for a few months, but just hadn’t ordered because I kept putting it off. I knew I couldn’t wait any longer. They had to be mine.
And now they are.
Luckily, for all of us, they’ve decided to continue making polish for special occasions in small batches. AW YISS. For those of you who haven’t tried them yet, seriously. Go place an order. I haven’t seen a polish from them that I didn’t immediately fall in love with.
I’m beyond happy with the two that I picked – Satin Panties and Sweater Weather is Better Weather. I’m a holo hussy from now till the day I die, and I want to dive into these. Blue and green tend to scare me away, but SWisBW is just plain stunning.
Ugh, isn’t that bottle gorgeous? Demi from www.baronessx.com is such an artist with everything she does. Jewelry, polish, cuticle balm, mani fizzies. Everything. Her bottles are my absolute favorite (not to mention how awesome her brushes are!).
Vino y Rosas is stunning and beyond perfect for a soft and romantic Valentine’s Day manicure. It was created for Terra of My Lacquer Cabinet and has since been released! It’s a delicate mauve holo with little blue flakies that tie everything together. The formula is amazing, just like the rest of Demi’s polishes and went on in two thin coats.
It’s finally October! Some places are even seeing snow (I’m lookin’ at you, Alaska!) and leaves turning. Now, if Georgia would get the memo about cooler weather and gorgeous leaves, I’d be happy as all get out.
If I can’t have cold weather, I’m glad that all of these wonderful indie brands are coming out with fall collections to hold me over until the South stops being too damn hot.
I’m back with another HUGE linkup with some fantastic nail addicts. This month’s theme? Favorite fall polish! It’s incredibly difficult picking just one, but out of all the indies that I own, one comes to mind as an absolute favorite for this time of year. I looked back on my Instagram feed and I surprisingly have only shared it as an accent, but I’ve used it enough that I’m halfway through my bottle.
Take A Drink, Michael was one of my first two polishes from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics and it’s a favorite for sure. This blackened bronze (and sometimes burgundy?!) holo is perfect for this time of year (let’s face it – it’s perfect for ANY time of the year!) and magically shifts color depending on the lighting you’re in.
