Happy Sunday, y’all! I’m super sad that the weekend is coming to an end, but I am entirely too excited about bedtime. We worked super early all last week in an effort to get ready for the next week, and I’m still feeling it. I think I might get this post up, go soak in a super comfy tub journey, and then take my butt to bed.
Before that, though, I have 7 more items from the April Polish Pickup to share. There’s just over 24 hours left, so let’s jump on in!
KBShimmer – Hubble’d Together ($10); “Hubble, the world’s first large, space-based optical telescope, has taken many beautiful pictures of the planets and stars. Our April Polish Pick Up contribution pays homage to the Hubble, with this polish based on a photo it took of Jupiter, its three moons and their shadows. Out polish starts with a teal leaning mint base. This jelly base is loaded with holographic micro flakes for shimmer and shine. Unicorn flakes echo the pastel shades of this colorful photo, while glow powder gives this polish a green cast in the dark. Best in 2-3 coats or 1-2 over a complimentary base. Layer 1 coat over black for a unique flake filled look.”
I am in love with this polish. It’s squishy and soft and perfect for spring, but still packs a punch with those flakies. They can add a teeeeeeeny tiny bit of texture, but they settle easily and smooth out with top coat. My photos show three coats plus TC and y’all are gonna have to excuse my potatoness when it comes to glow in the dark photos. An attempt was made, okay?
LynBDesigns – Simply Crabulous ($12); a deep purple crelly base and added red to gold to green to violet shifting flakies and the smallest of holographic shimmers. Inspiration was drawn from the Crab Nebula.
You guuuuys. My name twin is absolutely killing it lately, and this delicious cool-toned purple makes my heart super happy. Oh, and those flakies? YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS. My photos show two coats plus top coat.
LynBDesigns – Universal Calm Aromatherapy Diffuser ($5.50); “The universe can be so calming and I used that to inspire my first non polish item for PPU. I love diffusing essential oils and wish I could bring one wherever I go. Sadly, that’s impractical, so I found personal diffusers or inhalers, if you will. I blended some of my favorite citrus oils (lime, orange, lemon, and grapefruit) to make an aroma that’s both calming and uplifting. I like to keep one in my handbag or pocket at all times.”
I am a walking ball of anxiety. Truly. This diffuser is wonderful. I keep it in my backpack and the scent is so bright and happy, but such a familiar citrusy scent that it’s super calming to me. I highly highly recommend it.
Moon Shine Mani – Ludicrous Speed! ($11); a galactic teal with shimmer dynamically shifting from purple to pink to gold to green while holo flakies twinkle and orange to pink to green shifting flakies blaze from within.
Okay so like. That purple shift? Ho. lee. she. it. It’s one of the most awesome things to grace 2018. Actual trufax. This entire polish is fun and matches perfectly with Phoebe’s inspo, Spaceballs. My photos show two coats and top coat. While there may be larger pieces of flakies in the formula, don’t let them scare you. I had zero issues with texture, and they add this amazing depth to the entire thing.
Necessary Evil Polish – I AM STARSTUFF ($11); a “purplish-fuchsia chameleon with scattered holo, silver-copper-gold micro-flakes, copper shimmer, and two kinds of UCC flakies: blue-purple shift and an opal shift variety that changes from orange-pink-gold.”
Now, I’m gonna go ahead and apologize for showing this one off because it is indeed sold out (WHICH I AM SO PROUD OF – YOU GO, TAMARA. YOU GO!) but honestly, it deserves so much recognition. The whole friggen bottle is pure magic, and is honestly my favorite from NEP so far. It is super opaque and goes on in one coat AND also does not stain one bit. Seriously kickass. I’ve also been told that it is black light reactive. I maaaay have to test that at some point. If you grabbed this one, you’re going to be head over heels in love. I promise.
Night Owl Lacquer – You Heard About Pluto? ($11); a greige crelly base with copper shimmer, charcoal flakies, bright silver flakes and red/copper/orange/gold ultra chrome chameleon flakes.
Inspiration: Pluto with “a nod to my favorite show Psych.” On the show one of Gus’s most used pick up lines is “You heard about Pluto? That’s messed up right?!”
I’ve never seen Psych, but bless them for inspiring Lindsay because oh my goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood, this one is the tits. It’s a super flashy and fun safe for work option that I would 100% wear all the time. Seriously. The formula is super smooth and goes on in two thin coats. My photos show that plus top coat.
Starlight Polish – Fires of Creation ($18.50); “a blackened blue base with red to green shifting unicorn pee pigment (the original unicorn pee, not the new aurora pigment with the same shift), interspersed with blue to green shifting shimmer, scattered holographic pigment and flakes, bright blue micro flakes, and iridescent micro glitter. It tends to dry to a satiny finish, so I recommend top coat to really bring out the sparkle!”
Issa does unicorn pee SO so well, my dudes. FoC is easily one of the prettiest UP polishes I’ve seen yet, and it is absolutely the most perfect way to emulate space. In order to let UP shine through, this polish has an inky jelly base that needs to be built up. With my VNL, I needed three coats (and my normal top coat) – look how beautiful it is! I included a few flash photos so y’all could see that gorgeous iconic shift. Ugh, love!
And that’s it for my April Polish Pickup posts! The shop closes tomorrow night (April 9th) at 11:59 PM EST, so if you haven’t placed an order (or are planning to go back for more), now is the time to do so! As usual, shipping is a flat $3 for the US and a flat $5 for our neighbors North of the wall! International shipping is also available at cost. For more photos and links on what is offered, you’re going to want to check out the Polish Pickup Pack on FB.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope y’all have a nice and easy Monday!
