Literary Lacquers | Faulkner Duo

Press samples ahead!

Hihi! I hope you’ve all had a pretty awesome Saturday so far! I slept most of the day because the overnight shift that Mark worked, but I’m up now and ready to blog and paint ALL THE THINGS. Other than that, though, nothing has been going on. I’m almost tempted to soak for a little and then just go back to sleep. Hmmmm. Maaaaybe.

Before I decide to get super lazy and avoid all blogging obligations, I want to share a new duo from the ever-awesome Literary Lacquers with y’all! I’ve had these swatches done for a little bit, but my trip to SoCal pushed them back as well. They’re lovely, though, and I think you’ll enjoy them, especially any Faulkner fans out there in the wild.

Amy created this Faulker duo with William Faulkner’s short story, A Rose for Emily in mind. I’ve heard so many great things about his writings, and for whatever reason, I haven’t checked any of them out. I’ll need to change that, considering that this short story is a creepy tale. Right up my alley, yeah?

A Rose for Emily; a dusty almost terra cotta rose creme. We already know how not fond of cremes I am usually. This one is a total game-changer! It goes on super smooth in two coats, self-levels, and cleans up super easily. The color is absolutely beautiful! I’m in love. 102% head over heels. Sorry Mark.

The Best You Have; a clear topper with holo sparkle and medium hex glitter in matte grey, holo black, holo orange, and metallic navy. What a fun and dark glitter bomb! I decided to test it solo just to see what it looked like, and I actually really enjoyed it! I painted one coat on and then sponged on two for maximum opacity. It was a bit textured, which was to be expected, but adding a coat of Seche Vite smoothed it all out. It was pretty easy to clean up, too!

I also decided to try them together and I LOVE how it turned out! The navy and orange glitters pair super nicely with the shade of the creme. My photos show just one coat of the topper over A Rose for Emily.

These are both available now for $10 each in the Literary Lacquers shop! They’re a perfectly delightful, and spot on for the season!

Be sure to check out all of the links below for more info and photos on all that Literary Lacquers has to offer!

Thanks for stopping my, my friends! Let me know if you’ve grabbed these already!
