Moon Shine Mani & Colores de Carol | Gratitude Duo

Press samples ahead!

Hey folks! I am entirely too amped up today. I haven’t slept, I’ve had three cups of bold coffee, AND my severance came in. That means that I got to go a little crazy with the Polish Pickup, pay all of my bills, order groceries to last for the next few months, and order a new camera so I can step up my photo game. Or something like that. We’ve yet to see whether or not I possess an IQ high enough to operate one of them fancy DSLRs.

I feel like I can finally breathe, and I’m hoping that this means that I’ll be able to sleep normally again. I am 10000003% grateful, trufax. So, while Mark and I are watching BlizzCon, I want to share something that’s perfect for this giving season! It’s a collab from two brands that I am quickly falling in love with – Colores de Carol and Moon Shine Mani. They teamed up for a Thanksgiving-themed duo that is absolutely stunning, so let’s take a look!

Here’s a bit of info on the Gratitude duo directly from the talented women behind the polish:

In celebration of the modern-day tradition of Thanksgiving as a time to be grateful for the things we hold dear and to bless the lives of others, Colores de Carol and Moon Shine Mani are thrilled to present the Gratitude Duo. Combining the warmth and comfort of Fall colors and a little shimmer and bling for the laughter in the air, these polishes were such a treat to create and we hope you feel how much fun we had working on these polishes together.

This duo is fantastic, y’all. It’s warm and happy and familiar, but at the same time, it’s unique and refreshing.

Moon Shine Mani – Be Giving; Phoebe describes this one as a harvest glitter bomb. It has copper and gold scattered holographic, orange and gold holo glitters, as well as brown, bronze, orange, and rose metallic hex glitters in a cocoa-tinted jelly base. This one can be worn by itself or as a topper. For whatever reason, the topper bit didn’t occur to me until AFTER I’d seen several swatches. Ooops. That being said, I love it by itself! I used three coats and a generous coat of Seche Vite on top to seal it all.

I went back and added a bit of art because WHY NOT? To stamp, I used Moonflower Polish Dia and Bundle Monster’s BMH13 plate.

Colores de Carol – Be Grateful; Carolina described this one as a soft eggshell crelly with mulitichrome flakies (copper to gold to green) and multichrome shimmer(copper to red), iridescent chameleon glitter(red to gold to green) as well as gold shimmer. I made a VERY unflattering squeal out of delight as soon as this one went on. It’s opaque in two thin coats and just. Those flakies, y’all. I friggen die. It did have a stronger smell, but I have a feeling it’s the multichrome pigment (noticed it with a few other indies as well). The smell was a little intense while painting, but as soon as it dried, the scent was gone.

And because I arted with one, I absolutely had to with the other! I stamped using Painted Polish Stamped in Brick and Stamped in Sweet Potato as well as the Flirty Florals (01) plate from Morgan Taylor.

The Gratitude Duo is available for preorder now! They only come as a set, but it’s only $20 for the two, so that’s a steal for two stunning fall polishes. You’ve got from November 1st until November 5th to preorder them from this link. MSM and CdD are aiming to start shipping around November 10th.

I’m so happy that I was able to swatch these, they’re from brands that I have admired for a long while and they’re totally awesome.

And with that, I’m out! Thanks for stopping by, and happy fall, y’all!

***The nail polishes mentioned in this post were sent to me in exchange for an honest review and photos, which can be found above.***

Love that glittery one! But I feel like the stamping takes away from the sparkle.
