November 2017 Polish Pickup | Night Owl Lacquer

Press sample ahead!

We’ve almost made it to Friday, my friends. And you know what? I’m proud of you. You’re doin’ the thing and you’re doin’ it well. Go you.

I haven’t done jack today. I stayed up swatching and then fell asleep around 9am after reading annnnnnnnnnnnd here we are! I’ve gotten some amazing nail and wax mail and the boyfriend is home. Life’s good, y’know? Now I just need to convince him to get us foods because I have a mighty need for sustenance.

While I wait with bated breath for that, I want to share one of my absolute favorites from the November Polish Pickup.

  1. It’s from one of my favorite makers and best friends
  2. Harry Potter
  3. Shifty magics
  4. Harry Potter
  5. ???
  6. HARRY POTTER

By now, I know you guys know my love for all things HP – I mean, I fangirled pretty hard in yesterday’s post about Moon Shine Mani‘s HP-themed contribution. When Lindsay from Night Owl Lacquer messaged me about choosing Harry Potter as her fandom, I may have happy peed a little. It’s this amazing combination of things that I love and IT’S SO GOOD. So, let’s get into it, yeah?

Lindsay used this kickass piece of artwork from El Ilusionista Studios as her inspiration and maaaaan. She TOTALLY did it justice.

Battle of Hogwarts is described as a blackened base with green to red shift, silver holo shreds and UCC flakies that shift from red to copper to gold to green. The red shift is hard to capture on camera, but in person, holy mother of gob, it’s stunning. I took approximately 78 photos trying to capture every bit of it and uh. Well. I tried.

BoH went on in three coats (plus TC) for me, but those without dark VNL can definitely get away with just two. The blackened base lends itself to the overall opacity, and with the flakies? Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass.

In this next photo, you can see the shift coming through just a bit but wait. Just wait.

There we go. Look at that deep red shift. Ain’t it purdy?

I also arted a little. Or tried. I wanted to kinda paint out the magic on my nails and failed because of how short they are, but we are so just going to roll with it.

Starting tomorrow, November 3rd at 11am EST, you’ll be able to preorder Battle of Hogwarts for $11. Also, as usual, shipping is a flat $3 for our US and Canada folks! For more photos and links on what’s releasing for via preorder tomorrow, you’re going to want to check out the Polish Pickup Pack on FB.

Don’t forget to check out the Night Owls Just Wanna Get Lacquered Up facebook group and Night Owl Lacquer’s instagram as well!

What’s on your list? I hope this is on it because I mean. Green. Harry Potter. Flakies. Shifty. HARRY POTTER.

Thanks for stopping by, loves!

I love me some gorgeous greens! This kinda reminds me of old green glass bottles. And bottle green Victorian clothes. (At least I think it was Victorian….)
