Hihi! Hope y’all are having a fantastic Friday night! Boyfriend and I wound up staying up all night because I had to fast before blood work early this morning. He works overnights again this weekend, so we figured it’d be a good start to flipping his sleep schedule. After running a few errands and coming back, neither of us wanted to sleep just yet. Which, I’m down with. I’m to the point that I have to be absolutely exhausted in order to be able to sleep, so I was hoping that being up for 22 hours would help. Sleepiness happened, which was awesome. BUT. I woke up 3 hours later wide awake. I think I’m just going to hang out, swatch some stuff with movies going in the background, and then soak before trying to become one with the dead for a few extra hours of sleep. Sounds pretty damn good, especially if I can manage to sneak the air down a few degrees so I’m not roasting.
Before I knock out hard for the next 10+ hours, I wanted to share an AWESOME box with y’all! It’s seriously a nail blogger’s/nail artist’s dream come true, and it’s fall-themed, which makes it like a million times better!
Lilly Anne’s Garden puts out these boxes with a ton of goodies every few months, and they’re awesome as all get out. I ordered the Valentine’s Day one earlier this year, and I’ve been saving some of the stuff in it because it’s just all so good. It’s perfect, because the lovely human behind the brand, Misty, was a blogger/swatcher first and that really gave her an edge on what the nail community would like from something like this.
The Autumn Harvest Box includes a cuticle balm, roller ball cuticle oil, lotion, and a sugar scrub as well as a sheet of nail vinyls from Cathy of Vinailicious! I’ve had about a week and a half to play with these, and I’m super excited to share my thoughts!
10 G jar of Cuticle Balm in the scent Blackberry Scone; “notes of freshly picked blackberries are complemented by hints of boysenberries & raspberries and nuances of buttery, warm crust. This scent is definitely more fruity than bakery, so the sweetness doesn’t overpower the fruit.”
I was convinced that I wouldn’t like the scent after reading the description, just because I hate fruity berry smells, but whoa. This one smells so realistic and fresh and warm and I actually really love it. The balm itself is pretty kickass, too! It’s super moisturizing and but soaks in quickly so you’re not left with shiny cuticles. I’ve also been using it on a dry patch on my ankle and it feels wonderful. That weird patch is super dry to the point that it catches on the sheets at night and it’s awful. I just rub a little of this on before bed and that goes away. SO GOOD.
5ML Roller ball Cuticle oil in the scent Pumpkin Bread; “this one is fresh baked and right out of the oven. Makes your mouth water while it fills your home with the scent of fresh baked Pumpkin Bread. Catch the smell of pumpkin pie spice with just the right amount of baked crust. A must have fragrance for fall!”
Y’all ever see the cinnamon brooms that they stick in the front of Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Kroger this time of year? This smells EXACTLY like those! It’s strong, but not overpowering and has me wishing it were closer to 50 degrees outside. The oil soaks in nicely as well! It’s a tiny bit greasy, but only because you’re putting actual oils on your skin, y’know? I like putting it on at night just before bed.
2 oz Lotion In the scent Apple Harvest Festival; “notes of sweet slow-cooked spiced apples with mulled berries and citrus rind provide a bright top note leading to a warm blend of star anise, cinnamon sticks, and clove for middle notes, and a succulent caramelized brown sugar rounding out the base. Candied, baked, dumplings or turnovers, all the great smells of the local apple festival.”
Dudes. This scent? This scent is super yummy. It seriously smells like the stuff my grandfather would bake during the fall. It’s warm and homey and smells exactly as it’s described. The lotion is phenomenal, too! I know I’m a broken record, but Misty’s formulas for this stuff are all awesome. It’s not too heavy, but not so light that it just feels like you’re not getting anything other than the scent.
2 oz Sugar Scrub in the scent Autumn Rain; “it’s a crisp Autumn day and the rain has just begun to fall. The fresh, dewy, cool Autumn air carries the scent of dried leaves and hay bales from the farm next door as well as amber and fresh cut wood from the wood pile across the yard. Fallen leaves, hay bales, fresh stacked wood, cool Autumn air. A fresh, invigorating, strong scent that is true to its name.”
As soon as I smelled this one, I messaged Misty and told her that it needs to be made in wax form. It smells fresh like shaving cream, but also warm and seductive. It’s strong, but SO good. The name and the description just calls for a bold scent, and one that lasts long (but not too long, it won’t make you feel icky after smelling it over and over). The scrub, frig, I need a ton of it. It’s soft but still exfoliates super nicely. i love pairing it with my little nail brush when I go between swatching collections.
The last piece of the box is a sheet of Autumn Leaves vinyls/stencils from Vinailicious! I suck at vinyls. I use peel off base coats when swatching, so usually pulling the vinyl back up pulls the polish up too. These, though, were awesome. I swapped bases to play with these and I’m super pleased with the result. I’m even happier because I was able to use the same stencil for each nail since I was sponging the polish on.
For these, I used Night Owl Lacquer‘s Pining for Fall from the September Polish Pickup as my base and then sponged on a few of Painted Polish‘s cremes: Stamped in Brick, Stamped in Wine, Stamped in Greenery, and Stamped in Olive. I’m honest to goodness so proud of these, and these vinyls totally made it happen. BRING ON ALL THE FALL THINGS.
This box is available now for $21plus shipping here! It’s an awesome box with a little something for everyone, whether you’re a blogger or just an at home treat-yo-selfer!
So, whatcha think? Does this make you even more excited for Autumn, if you are at all?
Thanks for stopping by, loves!
