Y’all. I’m tired. I’m fighting the urge to curl up on the sofa for the rest of the day. As usual, I didn’t fall asleep until close to 5am. That’s fine, it’s whatever. I needed to be up by 10, because, you see, while Mark was gone last week, I impulse ordered 6 bottles of wine with unicorns on them. It was a moment of weakness. I regret nothing. However, an adulty adult has to sigh for the package, and the delivery window was 10-2 today. 5 minutes before my alarm for 9:20 goes off, I hear banging on the door downstairs. Maintenance. You know why? Our light fixture flipped out and starting blowing bulbs within just a few minutes of them being on. I put on the order that we’re okay with them walking in if nobody answers. Dudebro comes in at 9:15 in the friggen morning and just starts SCREAMING to get someone downstairs. Repeatedly. THAT’S COOL.
Hobie, one of the roommates, went downstairs to have the dude hakuna his tatas because I was searching for clothes to make myself look decent, and figured he may as well get ready for work. As he went to leave, he noticed that someone threw a big ass rock at his windshield. Funny that it’s just a few weeks after my window was broken in the same way. So now I’m up, waiting for UPS, eating cocoa crispies and trying to not fall asleep. May as well get a post up, right? At least I’ve got some gorgeous neons to share! They’ll for sure brighten up anybody’s day.
Okay, okay. Enough babbling. I’ve got the 3rd trio from the JulieG Spring polish line from Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics. Dang, that’s a mouthful.
First up is Oh Em Gee! which is a gorgeous neon pink. It makes me totally think of the Hot Magenta Crayola crayon. It was my favorite as a kid and I managed to lose it from each damn box. I was a mess annnnnnnnd I never grew out of that. Now I’m just an adultier mess. Shiiiiiiiiet. Anywho! This one took three coats with my VNL, but it applied pretty easily. It’s got a neon formula close to the older China Glaze neons, so it dries to an almost satin finish. I topped it with top coat for my photos. Unf.
Fierce and Fab; a gorgeous vibrant neon purple. This one had the same formula as Oh Em Gee!, but only took two coats for full opacity. It definitely freaked my camera out, but hopefully you’ll be able to tell how bright this is from my photos! I think this will be the next color on my toes. YES GOOD.
Cabana Boy; a dark almost-neon blue. I have no idea how to describe this one, but it’s absolutely beautiful. This one also dried to a satin finish, so I topped it with seche vite after two coats.
And that’s that! If you missed the other two posts from me on the trios, you can check them out here and here. The three trios are available now here for $10 each (plus shipping) – you’ll only be able to get them for a few more days, so make sure you snag them! $10 for three polishes isn’t bad at all!
