May 2017 Polish Pickup | Night Owl Lacquer

Press samples ahead!

Hey babes! I hope y’all have had a wonderful week so far! It’s been a blur here. It’s been raining nonstop (thanks, universe, for the endless torrential downpour when my window is still out in my car. APPRECIATE IT) and it’s the perfect cuddle up weather. That being said, that hasn’t happened. At. All. Boyfriend and I got up early yesterday after maybe two hours of sleep to go pick up a car from his dad’s, a new(to him) RX-8 and then ran around doing laundry IN THE RAIN. I don’t even care, though. Seeing the smile on my boyfriend’s face is so worth it. He had an older model that needed a bit of work, but his dad found this awesome one for him and he’s in love with it. Makes my heart happy.

Annnnnnnyyywho! Today is the 4th! As in MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU! And I’ve got a special science-themed lacquer by Night Owl Lacquer to share with you guys. Now, it’s not a Star Wars polish, but I couldn’t resist waiting to share this on this magnificent day. The Polish Pickup is back this month with a science theme, and man. The creations from each maker are all amazing. If you’re unsure of what the Polish Pickup is, be sure to check out my post from last month on it here.

For May’s Polish Pickup, Lindsay took to the skies for her inspiration. Well. Way beyond the skies that we see, actually. She chose this photo, what a collapsed star is said to look like, and bottled it up. No lie. She did an incredible job, sweet baby jesus.

So let’s take a look at Collapsed Star, yes?

Lindsay describes it as a black polish with green shimmer, black holo micro glitter, blue & green galaxy holo glitters and electric blue flakies. Mmmmmh, it’s perfect. Looking at it in the bottle, I thought it’d be super sheer and would need  a bajillion coats, but nope! This one was nearly fully opaque in one, but I went back with a second to be safe. It’s also not textured at all, and that makes me unreasonably happy. My photos show the polish topped with Seche Vite.

Ugh, just look at that shimmer! It’s absolutely delicious.

And then, for funsies, I added a bit of art using this plate from Harunouta and Dream from Lindsay’s Light & Bright collection. It’s a mess, but it’s kinda cute! Not like the galaxy is all nice and neat anyhow, right? Oh, and the mess that is my pinky has a bit of Moonflower Polish Turquesa stamped on as well.

Whatcha think? Lovely, isn’t it? This will be available for preorder starting tomorrow, May 5th at 11am EST until Monday the 8th. The polish will be $9, and the folks behind the Polish Pickup are offering $3 flat rate shipping to the US and Canada.

For allllll the photos and links on what’s releasing for preorder tomorrow, you’re going to want to check out the Polish Pickup Pack on FB. The folks that run it also let us normies nominate upcoming suggestions, so that’s pretty neat, too!

Don’t forget to check out the Night Owls Just Wanna Get Lacquered Up facebook group and Night Owl Lacquer’s instagram as well.

Annnd I’m outtie! Thanks for stopping by!
