DAY FOUR! We’re almost there, folks! Are y’all sick of me yet? I sure hope not, because there’s no sign of stopping. I’m going to try and queue up more posts so that next week is as busy as this one. I kinda like it. I feel 7 different kinds of important. No lie.
I uh… I’m only really good at three things in life. Overthinking all the things, not being able to sleep, and being able to listen to a song for HOURS on repeat. My poor boyfriend has to deal with me listening to one song on repeat while I’m in the shower and belting my heart out. Bless his soul. He always asks me how I can do it and not get sick of it. I honestly don’t know. I remember my mom would get mad and tell me that I was going to ruin my cd and/or my walkman playing the same song over and over and over and over. MOM, YOU WERE WRONG, JUST SAYIN’. I… I had a point to this. I’m not sure what it was. Maybe to share a song? Probably. I recently got caught up on my current favorite anime, Blue Exorcist, and this recent season has this theme song that I’m in love with. There’s a little breakdown in the beat and oh my gawd, it’s my favorite part. That’s been on repeat for the last week. I found an english version that I’m trying to learn, but the Japanese version has the BEST breakdown part. Words are hard. Just listen. And maybe enjoy. Or something.
While you’ve got that playing, why don’t we take a look at Night Owl Lacquer‘s spring collection? Lindsay, darlin’, you did a bang up job with these! I’m not a green lover, y’all already know that, but these? I EFFIN LOVE. The five pretties you’re about to see are a part of her Dreaming of Green collection, which releases Friday, March 10th, at 10pm MST. There’s something in here for everyone: a bit of neon, some olive green, some glitter, and some delicious flakies and shimmer. Drooling yet? Oh! And just as a reminder, Lindsay has offered my readers a discount code, so keep reading for it!
Wildflower Meadows: a leaf green with bright purple shimmer & violet, light pink, dark pink & blue holo shreds. Looking at this one in the bottle, I was worried that the only thing I’d like about it was the flakies. Boy, I was wrong. Because it’s more of a crelly, it needed three coats (I could have done a fourth with my VNL), but it self-leveled and the color? Woweeeee. It really is a leaf green, it almost makes me think of fall when the leaves start changing. It’s absolutely beautiful, especially with those shreds.
New Beginnings; a dark olive green with bright copper shimmer & copper flecks. Holy sweet baby haysus. The shimmer in this one is absolutely unreal, my dudes. That, and it’s so deliciously opaque that it’s fantastic. It was pretty much opaque in one coat, but I added another to be safe. Just. My lack of words is only because there’s only so many ways to say “IT HELLA PURDY”.
Renewal; a mint green with gold shimmer and gold micro flakies. This one. You guys. This one is the most perfect mint shade. EVER. And that gold shimmer just. Eff. That’s fancy as hell, and I love every bit of it. This one was was mostly opaque for me in two coats, but I needed one more because of my pesky VNL. It’s just lovely, though! The formula was super smooth (let’s be real, they all are buttery smooth) and had so much depth with the shimmer and flakies.
The Grass Is Greener Where You Water It; a grass green packed full of micro flakes that subtly shift from gold to green and scattered holo. OHAY HOLO! This formula totally makes me think of the Zoya holos, and I absolutely love it. The scattered holo with the microflakes, just. Man. They’re so reflective. 11/10 your nails will totally distract you. This one needed three coats on my nails, but I’m almost positive it’ll be a two-coater on everyone else.
Feelin’ Lucky; a bright lime green with color shifting iridescent glitters of various sizes. This one is also black light-reactive! I’m a dolt and don’t have a black light setup (I last tried a few years back and it didn’t work so I chucked it all. Great thinking, eh?), but if you’re in the Night Owls Just Wanna Get Lacquered Up group, you can see some shots by Sloppy Swatches! Anywho, this neon green is PERFECT for spring! I always say that I hate the season, but now that it’s getting warmer, I’m so ready for bright colors! This one is sheer on me with my VNL, so I used three coats, but it’s so jelly-licious that the glitters make it look totally kickass.
If you’re still reading, you’ve made it to the discount code! ;D – TGOB10 will get you 10% off your order. This isn’t an affiliate code, just Lindsay being super sweet to all of us!
Are any of y’all planning to get the full collection? Or is there one (or four) that totally caught your eye?
I know I linked it above, but don’t forget to check out the NOL fan group, too! I’m working with Lindsay on a custom for my little night owlets, and that’s happening in the not-too-far-off future! I’m super excited for it, I know y’all are going to love it.
Thanks for reading nerdlings!
