BE STILL, MY GEEKY LITTLE HEART.
I recently found Dragonsworn Cosmetics on Instagram and fell in love with Cal’s creations. She’s huge into Warcraft like I am (along with so many other games, y’all go look at her stuff. Seriously.) and loves nail polish and everything beauty. We were meant to be friends. Clearly.
HI CAL WE’RE BESTIES NOW, JUST SO YOU KNOW. <3
Anywho. She’s fascinated by the Aspects in the World of Warcraft. They’re the 5 leaders of Dragonflight and are sworn to protect Azeroth. Those that don’t play are probably sitting there with glazed-over eyeballs. So, I’ll let y’all read more in to it if you care to! Here’s the Wowpedia!
A few weeks ago (I think it was the day I had my surgery and was highly medicated), Cal reached out to me to see if I’d like to swatch some of her WoW-related polishes. UHM HELL TO THE EFF YEAH, BUDDY. I barely remember jumping up and down and babbling unintelligible words at my poor boyfriend. Pretty sure I shoved my phone in his face like “LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK” all while drooling all over. Good times.
But in all seriousness, the polishes are wonderful, and embody each of the Aspects perfectly. Before I even said what they were, one of the nerds was able to accurately name each of them. I’M SO PROUD.
You guys ready to see these? LEHGO.
Alexstraza; “This color is inspired by Warcraft’s Alexstraza the Life-Binder, the Dragon Aspect of Life. Flame reds with gold shimmers, it is vibrant and spectacular.” It went on in two thin coats and had this gorgeous glow to it. Sexy as hell, too. Unf.
Nozdormu; “This color is inspired by Warcraft’s Nozdormu the Timeless One, the Dragon Aspect of Time, and is sparkling bronzes and copper glitters.” Another glowy one, and so friggen pretty. I needed three coats because it dried quickly and went on a little patchy (honestly only because my nails are so long, and I’m a thin-coat gal).
Neltharion; “This color is inspired by Warcraft’s Neltharion the Earth-Warden, the Dragon Aspect of Earth, and is warm deep-earth grey with red lava glitter.” Two coats, and possibly my favorite of the 5. I hate Neth’s Lair in Legion, though. Ugh, dumb place. But, this polish is perfect. Those that play, you know the grabby hands with the runes in the palms? That’s what I think of when I look at this polish. Oh, I love it.
Ysera; “This color is inspired by Warcraft’s Ysera the Dreamer, the Dragon Aspect of Nature, and is bright leaf and forest greens with the pink and purple glitters of lunar magic.” NOPE. I’M NOT STILL CRYING OVER WHAT HAPPENED IN LEGION TO HER. NOPE. THAT’S GLITTER COMING OUT OF MY EYES. Ugh, my heart. I totally see why Cal says she likes to drown her sorrows in glitter. It’s working. This forest green polish is gorgeous. I needed three coats here as well to level it out (we think there may be an issue with the base or the brushes, but that’ll be fixed so y’all don’t have to worry!), but once I added top coat, it was allllllll gravy.
Malygos; “This color is inspired by Warcraft’s Malygos the Spell-Weaver, the Dragon Aspect of Magic, and is icy blues with white diamond glitter and snowflake confetti.” Mmmmh, magic. I seriously love this one, especially because I main a mage. The blue is incredibly pretty and the glitters give it so much more life. Two coats and it was good to go!
The Aspects would totally be proud of this collection, just as I am. All the nerds in the house agree that they like it, too. And honestly, even if you don’t play, I think there’s something in here for everyone!
These babies are available now, and can be found here. While you’re there, check out the Overwatch polishes too. DO LIKE. IT’S HIIIIIIIIIIIGH NOOOOOOOON.
I greatly appreciate y’all reading, and I hope you fine folks have a wonderful and safe Halloween!
***the polishes were sent to me in exchange for an honest review and photos, which can both be found above.***
