Ugh. I don’t even know how to start this. I’ve never actually had a bad review to do, sooooo here goes nothing?

Thanks to the lovely Influenster program, I was chosen to test Marc Jacobs’ new Velvet Noir mascara (complimentary) and I was super excited. Marc Jacobs. It’s high-end, has to be good, right?  Nope. At least, not for me.

The packaging feels super cheap and the brush isn’t anything to write home about. The bristles were too short and too dense to even really disperse the mascara evenly. I’ve worn it 3 or 4 times and still haven’t come to love it. Maybe it’s me. Maybe I’m too picky. Maybe I’ve just lost any sort of love for makeup on myself. Either way. I don’t like.

I did a quick look yesterday (that came off 5 minutes later because I was too damn tired to fuss with anything), so forgive me for the photos being a little lackluster. I didn’t even realize I had shadow in my waterline and messy underneath in them until I removed my makeup. Ooops. We just need to focus on the mascara anyhow, right? Right.

For it being a volumizing mascara, I didn’t notice any of that. I’ve got fairly long, thin lashes already, but it just made them look clumpy and stringy and spidery and ugh. No. No. No. No. I had to take a spoolie brush after and spread my lashes back out to even get it to this point.

I don’t know. Like I said, it could totally be just me. If you’ve tried it, did you like it? I want to love it, I really do. I’m bummed because this is the first campaign I’ve been chosen for from Influenster that I didn’t actually like the product. Oh well. Next time!

If y’all would like to sign up (it’s free) and take quizzes and do reviews in exchange for some pretty neat stuff, you can do so via this link!

Happy Thursday, folks.

Velashaa out!
