Y’all. It’s Friday. Know what means? It means that I have two more shifts (including one in 30 minutes) until I’m off for 7 days straight. Do you know why that’s so exciting?

I’ve worked the last 84 days straight. My own fault, but I’m not complaining one bit. I love my job. I love the paychecks. However, I’m jazzed as all get out because my amazing boyfriend is coming to visit AND Georgia’s weather has finally cooled down.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

My Potato Queen

What a way to start 2016, RIGHT? Holo. Potato. Goodness. Emily from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics knows the way to my heart, seriously.

Over the last year, she’s become one of my closest friends and favorite indie brands. I can’t even put into words how much this woman has changed my life for the better. She’s a WoW nerd, a fan of some amazing music, and a friggen genius when it comes to polish. Oh, and her kid is cute as all get out. Trufax.

Last month, she surprised me one morning by telling me that she’d created a polish inspired by me. I, being the lame ass that I am, happy cried and jumped around a little too much in my apartment. My polish, Potato Queen, is one of the seven nail polishes inspired by customers-turned-friends in Emily’s life. I’m partial to my polish, of course, but y’all need to check out the rest of them (they can be found on her Instagram).

We decided to go with Potato Queen for the name of mine since I am the queen of all things potato. I’m a magnet for stupid people and all things potato, so it seemed fitting. Doesn’t help that I’m a little slow on the uptake myself and anything holo attracts my attention.

It’s crazy. This magenta beauty has a gorgeous blue shift depending on the lighting, so keep an eye out for that in the second set of photos. But but but just look. The large flake holo pigment just sets this polish over the top. It goes on in two thin coats and looks gorgeous with Seche Vite over it – I didn’t have any issues with it dulling the polish at all.

I seriously can’t get over how perfect this is. Emily found a way to pack everything I love into one nail polish and I’m excited to share it with y’all. The full collection releases on January 22nd, and I know I’m going to snag a few myself (along with a backup of mine!).

I hope you guys all had a wonderful holiday season and that you’re ready for the best year ever!
